Well fall is here! If I want to be technical there are
actually two more days until it is officially 

autumn but by all appearances it has arrived!
The temperatures have dropped and I've brought 

out my sweaters! The leaves are changing and the
Annapolis Valley looks so beautiful!
Perfect days for sitting on my porch swing with a
blankie and a cup of spiced apple cider and my book! 

It's also a great time for decorating! Do you have your pumpkin yet??

Rainy day cupcakes

Nothing better than a BBQ in the rain .... right?

I joined The Hubby and some of his coworkers today for an impromptu barbecue and I brought some pretty blue cupcakes.

Hurricane Leslie is starting to effect the weather here in Nova Scotia so maybe a BBQ wasn't the best idea but it was delicious anyway.

Our wedding was just this past week (August 29th) and it was amazing! We were so happy with how everything turned out and we had so much fun with our family and friends. We could not have asked for a more perfect day or location. We had it at Oceanstone Resort in beautiful Peggy's Cove and it was amazing. We can't wait to go back there for our anniversary next year!

I had tasked myself with making our wedding cake and as the day got closer and the stress built up I was beginning to think that wasn't the best idea. It ended up that our timing was awesome and I had more than enough time to make our cake and still socialize with our house guests.

I made a three tier cake with buttercream and fondant.Base tier was a french vanilla with a combination of buttercream and cherry filling. 

The middle tier was a chocolate fudge with chocolate nutella icing (and it was my favorite!)The top tier was a chocolate fudge with a combination of buttercream and raspberry filling.We ate the last piece of cake yesterday and I was sad to see it go!

Practice Cake

17 days until my wedding and I finally got the final prep for the wedding cake finished.
After changing my plan to a new style that I hadn't made before I required some practice!
This is my practice cake. The final product will have more tiers and different flowers

It's been one hell of a year! I haven't posted anything on here in so long but I thought it would be a good time to restart my creations! Here are the cakes that I've done since I last posted. There aren't many but I plan on changing that!!

Military Man

Well Nathen is gone for training to become a Military Police Officer. We are all very proud of him! This is the cake I made, with my Mom's help, for his going away party.
